Silica nitride can be used as a high-strength refractory material in components of high-temperature equipment, metallurgical industry, etc.

In the metallurgical industry, due to the high heat resistance of silicon nitride, low friction coefficient and self-lubricating property, it is resistant to most metal alloys. Therefore, it can be used to make tools and molds for processing metal materials, such as rod core, wire extrusion molds, rolls, conveyor rollers, heating element mounts, thermocouple sleeves, metal heat treatment support, crucible, liquid aluminum guide, casting ladle lining, etc.

Combined with silicon carbide (SiC), it is used as SI3N4-SIC refractory material for shafts and other parts of blast furnace. Combined with boron nitride (BN), SI3N4-BN materials are used in horizontal continuous casting for spacer rings. SI3N4-BN series spacer rings for horizontal continuous casting are ceramic materials with fine structure, uniform structure and high mechanical strength. It has good thermal shock resistance and will not be wetted by molten steel, which meets the requirements of continuous casting process.
